Beginning for the 2025-2026 school year, HCS students in grades K-12 are not permitted to display or use a cell phone, smartwatch, or other electronic communication device on school property during the school day.

Cotton Indian Excellence

Ms. Briana Fleetwood was named 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Zamone Lott was named 2024-2025 Educational Support Personnel of the Year.

CIE achieved significant academic progress, with increases in all 4th and 5th-grade tested areas, including double-digit gains in 5th-grade reading (12 points), ELA (15 points), and science (17 points) on the 2023-2024 GMAS.

Students have diverse opportunities to grow and explore through a variety of extracurricular activities such as basketball, cheer, Good News Club, Reading Bowl, Beta Club, Math Bowl, PBIS Ambassadors, GEM Girls, Safety Patrol, and more.

Every student at CIE is enrolled in fine arts, ensuring they can engage in music and world language (Spanish), fostering creativity and cultural awareness.

Our Family Engagement program provides services to support both academic and personal needs, ensuring every family has the tools for success. The Family Resource Center is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering guidance and connecting families with resources. 

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) promotes positive behavior and a safe, supportive learning environment. Our goal is to encourage positive behavior, reduce negative behavior, and ensure every student feels valued and respected.
